These devices are often made using simple chemicals and secondary materials such as fertilizer. The author stresses that it is crucial for each soldier to have necessary tools and training to identify and safely avoid IED threats. DetectaChem’s SEEKERe is one such tool that could be life-saving in battle. The SEEKERe performs rapid, portable detection testing of small trace explosive residue.
